Toto Bergamo Rossi

Director, Venetian Heritage

Toto Bergamo Rossi, a restorer specializing in the conservation of stone materials, has restored important monuments in Italy and abroad. He has served as director of Venetian Heritage since 2010. 

He has led numerous exhibitions and publications dedicated to Venetian art. He is the co-curator of “Domus Grimani: The Collection of Classical Sculptures Reassembled in its Original Setting after Four Centuries” at the Museo di Palazzo Grimani; and “From Donatello to Alessandro Vittoria, 1450–1600: 150 Years of Sculpture in the Republic of Venice” at the Galleria Giorgio Franchetti alla Ca’ d’Oro. He is the author of several books, including “Inside Venice: A Private View of the City's Most Beautiful Interiors” (Rizzoli International, New York, 2016) and “Venice and the Doges: Six Hundred Years of Architecture, Monuments, and Sculpture” (Rizzoli International, New York, 2023).

In 2021, he was appointed honorary consul of Sweden in Venice.
