Gabrielle Tana is among Britain’s most respected independent producers. Her eye for quality and talent has consistently yielded critically acclaimed films, including Stephen Frears’s four-time Oscar-nominated “Philomena,” Saul Dibb’s Oscar-winning “The Duchess,” and Simon Stone’s five-time BAFTA nominee “The Dig.” She produced Ralph Fiennes's directorial debut, “Coriolanus,” signaling the start of a longstanding partnership which includes “The White Crow” and “The Invisible Woman.”

Tana has a track record of high-profile releases through her company “Magnolia Mae Films. Ron Howard's “Thirteen Lives” is a thrilling recreation of one of the most extraordinary rescue operations ever undertaken, starring Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell and Joel Edgerton and written by William Nicholson. Karim Aïnouz's English-language debut “Firebrand,” screened in the main competition at Cannes in 2023, is a Tudor thriller chronicling the last months of Henry VIII’s life and his wife Katherine Parr’s struggle to survive, starring Alicia Vikander and Jude Law. Aïnouz’s “Motel Destino” screened in the Official Selection at Cannes in 2024. Meanwhile, Patrick Dickinson’s debut, “Cottontail,” starring Lily Franky and Ciarán Hinds, won Best First Work at Rome Film Fest 2023.

Upcoming projects include “Switzerland,” an adaptation of Joanna-Murray Smith’s play, directed by Anton Corbijn and starring Helen Mirren as writer Patricia Highsmith alongside Alden Ehrenreich and Olivia Cooke. She is currently in production for Simon Stone’s “Elsinore.” Written by Stephen Beresford, it stars Andrew Scott as Ian Charleson in the run-up to his acclaimed performance as Hamlet at the National Theatre, with Olivia Colman and Billie Piper in supporting roles.
