Art Collector
Alain Servais is one of the most thoughtful, outspoken, challenging, and inspiring collectors in the international contemporary art field.
Established over the course of more than two decades, his Servais Family Collection focuses on underrepresented artists and museum-quality art that he considers significant and worthy of preservation, supporting artists who raise difficult questions about materiality, corporeality, violence, racism and death.
Mr. Servais comes from an investment banking background. With a strong interest in video art and new media, he manages his collection from a 1,800-square-meter industrial space known as the Loft in Schaerbeek, home to a diverse population of immigrants in Brussels, where he showcases an annual curated exhibition and also runs an artist residency.
